Dr. Suvaluk Asavasanti is currently a director of Food Engineering Practice School (FEPS) program at King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand and a coordinator for Future Food Industry Program under The Thailand Research Fund (TRF). She completed a bachelor degree with second-class honors in Food Engineering from Kasetsart University in 2002. She went on to pursue a master’s degree in Food Engineering Practice from KMUTT in 2004. She received a scholarship from Ministry of Science & Technology to complete her doctorate in Biological Systems Engineering at the University of California, Davis in 2011. Upon graduation, she joined Food Technology and Engineering Laboratory, Pilot Plant Development and Training Institute, KMUTT as a researcher and a site director of FEPS program. In 2015, she was appointed as a director of FEPS program to oversee the activities to increase effectiveness and sustainability of FEPS program, which include but not limiting to seek out for financial support & industrial partners, set up an active recruitment program, student development program, evaluation method, etc. She has also been actively involved in developing collaborative projects with the food industries to enhance their research capability and solve their problems. In 2016, she was appointed as an assistant professor in Food Engineering at KMUTT. Her research interest includes but not limited to advanced food processing technologies (e.g. PEF, Ohmic heating, HPP, Electric/ magnetic field assisted freezing), nondestructive inspection of biological materials and educational development.
