Assistant Professor Noppol Leksawasdi, PhD received the Royal Thai Government Scholarship to undertake his Bachelor and Doctorate Degrees at The University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia on Bioprocess Engineering / Biotechnology during 1994 – 2004. He published 13 papers in the refereed journals and is currently working with the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Chiang Mai University, Thailand as an Associate Dean of Agro-Industry (Research and Community Services). His research interests include ethanol production from agricultural materials and biotransformation of pyruvate decarboxylase (PDC) enzyme. He successfully applied for funding and served as a project overseer of an International Symposium entitled “Biofuels from Agricultural and Agro-Industrial Wastes” during May 2010 from Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) as well as an International Workshop entitled “International Training of the Trainers on Food Processing” during 2010 – 2012 from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). His academic interests include the strengthening of joint cooperation of agencies within Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) countries. He has been invited by the Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) as a consultant to develop a project proposal for enhancing the capacity of food supply chain management within the country.
